PIPES/ELECTRICAL CABLES INCLUDING TELEPHONE AND ALARMS
No responsibility will be accepted for damage to underfloor pipes and electrical cables unless the fitter has been made aware of their existence.
ESTIMATION AND PRICING
Where floors are not up to a suitable standard, preparation may be undertaken by our fitters (Screeding, Hard boarding, Plying etc). We will need adequate notice and there will be an extra charge for this service.
Please note that every reasonable care is taken to provide you with an accurate costing for materials and fitting during our free estimation service.
However, very rarely there may be a need for additional labour or materials with respect to any issues not identified during the initial visit due to reasons beyond our reasonable control. only to ensure the longevity of the product and fitting to industry standards.
Any such issues and additional costs will be brought to your attention before the work commences.
Carpet manufacturers are by law allowed an industry tolerance on roll widths of +or- 1.25%. Therefore on very rare occasions, a 4.00m width may come up to 3.95m or 4.05 m. Where an under width occurs, extra joins may be necessary.
Once we have booked you a fitting date, you are welcome to change this as many times as may be required, however, a change within 24 hours of the job does not always leave enough time to rearrange the days work. We understand that trades run behind if your builder isn’t ready, or the paint isn’t dry – we completely understand, however, we may charge from £45 per fitter cancellation charge if this occurs without 24 hours prior notice.
We can arrange for your doors to be cut. There will an extra charge for this service.
Doors may need to be trimmed to allow clearance. This is not part of the standard fitting charge unless agreed in advance. Fitters may remove doors to facilitate fitting and have them ready for you or your appointed carpenter to carry out the trimming and re-hanging.
If you have fire doors that require trimming, this will need to be carried out by a specialist carpenter and this is not a service provided by Affordable Flooring Solutions. We are also unable to remove fire doors and as such, arrangements should be made prior to the fitting date.
Fitters undertake to carry out their work with reasonable skill and care, but even with the greatest care home décor may be marked or scuffed during the fitting process. New paintwork and wallpaper is especially vulnerable and should be allowed to fully dry. Neither we nor any fitter undertake to carry out any redecoration, except where damage has been caused by that person’s direct negligence.
Uplift and Disposal
We offer and uplift and disposal service. We will remove the current flooring and underlay including the staples and/or pins used to put this down. In an instance where you would like to carry this out yourself, please make sure that the floor is completely clear to a similar standard. More often than not, if you having carpet installed, you can re-use your gripper so feel free to leave this down, however, do mind out – gripper is sharp and spiteful especially for children and pets.
We will happily move furniture if this has already been agreed to in the quote. Wardrobes, drawers (including under the bed) need to be emptied and any smaller items need to be removed prior to our arrival. For example, if you have a book case in the room, we’ll happily move it but please move all the books off of it first… should you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
